Boneless Couch Guide is a static editorial site. It has no accounts, no comments, no newsletter and no shopping basket, so there is very little to collect — and this page says plainly what happens with the little there is.

What this site collects

Nothing you type, because there is nothing to type into: no forms, no sign-up, no comments. The pages are pre-built HTML files served from a web server. We set no cookies of our own and store nothing in your browser beyond what the browser caches to display the page.

Our web server keeps standard access logs — IP address, timestamp, requested URL, browser user agent — as almost every web server does. They exist to keep the site running and to spot abuse, they are not linked to any identity, and they are not sold or shared.

Affiliate links

We participate in the Amazon Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Links to Amazon carry a tracking tag, which tells Amazon that the visit came from here. If you then buy something, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you.

That commission does not change what we write. We publish the gaps in a seller’s evidence as readily as the strengths, and several models on this site carry warnings that would talk a reader out of buying them. No brand pays for inclusion, and no brand sees a page before it is published.

This site does not display Amazon prices, availability or sales rank. Always check the current price and availability on Amazon before ordering.

Analytics

No analytics service is currently loaded on this site. If that changes, this page will be updated before it goes live, and the section will name the service and what it collects.

You can block analytics with any content blocker or by enabling “Do Not Track” in your browser; the site works exactly the same either way.

What Amazon sees

When you follow a link to Amazon, you leave this site and Amazon’s own privacy policy applies. Amazon receives the referring page and the affiliate tag, and it may set its own cookies. We never receive your name, your address, your payment details or what you eventually bought — only aggregate commission reports.

Amazon's own handling of your data is set out in its Privacy Notice and Cookies Notice. You can turn off interest-based ads from Amazon on its Advertising Preferences page, and you can block or delete Amazon's cookies in your browser settings at any time.

Product names and specifications come from retailer listings and manufacturer pages; product images remain the property of their publishers.

Your rights

If you are in the EU, the UK or California, data protection law gives you rights over personal data held about you — access, correction, deletion and objection among them. Because this site holds no personal data beyond transient server logs, in practice there is rarely anything to hand over or erase, but write to us and we will act on any request within 30 days.

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Contact and changes

Questions about this policy, a correction to a product profile, or a data request: see the contact page or write to [email protected].

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. There is no mailing list to notify, so the current version is always the one you are reading.

Editorial method

For how the research itself is done — what “not verified” means, why we do not publish star ratings, and which sources sit behind each profile — see About this guide.
